Seoul Sunset Hike + Temple & K-Food Adventure
Why you'll love this hike
- Watch the sky turn gold over Seoul from a ridge most tourists never find
- Step into Gyeongwonjeongsa Temple's quiet courtyards with someone who knows its story
- Talk real history, culture, and daily life with your guide the whole way up — no script
- End the night with real Korean food (and better stories) at a cozy local spot
About this experience
This isn't a sightseeing checklist — it's an evening with a local friend who happens to know every hidden staircase, temple bell, and noodle shop on Achasan.
Climb through quiet pine forest as the city turns gold below you, along the same ridge line BTS's RM and V once hiked on Run BTS. Stop at Gyeongwonjeongsa Temple for a moment among centuries-old rooftops, then head back down to a warm, unpretentious meal your guide actually eats. Expect real conversation about Korea along the way — not a rehearsed script.

What guests say
"We had a really fun tour and a great time learning more about Korean culture. It was interesting, enjoyable, and a lovely way to experience the area from a local perspective. We especially enjoyed chatting with a local and hearing their insights, which made the tour feel more personal and memorable. We did this tour at the end of our trip to Korea but would recommend doing it at the start to get some recommendations on where to go/visit!"
"Our guide was beyond wonderful! It felt as if we were visiting and catching up with a good friend as he made us feel very at home even while far away from home. We climbed to great heights to see breathtaking views surrounded by peaceful nature while carrying on stimulating conversation covering a multitude of topics including Korean history, culture, language, life, etc. We finished the adventure in a cozy charming local eatery to share delicious food and drink as well as memorable stories and laughs before parting ways with his guidance and direction. This experience was definitely a highlight of our trip."
"Absolutely phenomenal! David was a great guide and super personal! I also requested to go an hour early so we could see the beginning of the sunrise at the top of the mountain. The view turned out to be just as gorgeous as I hoped! He also helped me navigate the subway system which I really appreciated! He also doesn't mind taking pictures of you if you ask him, which is a huge plus! He also touched on some history of Korea and the things we were seeing which I enjoyed :) Definitely recommend this tour! Plus the hike was a blast and it ends with food, like come on that's awesome :D"
"Wonderful experience! Sanghoon is very knowledgeable and goes out of his way to explain details. The hike was beautiful, the food we had was unique and sumptuous. I will be coming back with my kids and wife! Thank you Sanghoon for the great time I had."
"David and I met up an hour early to catch the sunset on today's hike. When I learned the summit was the same spot where BTS's RM and V did their Run BTS ep. 44 mission, I was determined to reach it. As a beginner hiker, the trail was doable but the stairs required a few extra breaks, and David was wonderfully patient throughout. The climb was worth it — the view was stunning, and we captured several beautiful photos at the top. On the way down, we stopped at Gyeongwonjeongsa Temple, which added a peaceful touch to the day, before ending with a comforting dinner at a local Korean noodle restaurant. It was a memorable experience from start to finish."
"The hike was more intense than expected (not for beginners but not too difficult) especially with the intense summer heat, but the view was well worth it. Gyeongwonjeongsa Temple was a beautiful short stop at the end of the hike. Our guide, David, was so patient with my group, very friendly and gave a nice history of Seoul during the hike. The restaurant he took us to was authentic and delicious (cold noodles on a summer night was perfect). If you want a relatively simple, quick taste of hiking in Seoul, this is it!"
"It was a great hike with fantastic views. I can only recommend it and would book it again. After the great tour there was a picnic in the park with delicious Korean food 👍"
"Sanghoon is a lovely guide who cares about guests and the mountain and enjoys chatting with travellers. Dinner was delicious, and Sanghoon accommodated my special diet. Hiking with company made Achasan less intimidating for a casual hiker, and I learned a lot about neighbourhoods in Seoul that were new to me. An excellent way to spend the evening for a solo traveller or small group. The views are fantastic! This is one of my most memorable experiences in Seoul."
